Beth Jacob United Synagogue Youth (BJUSY) is the Beth Jacob chapter of the national USY movement. We are a welcoming space for all Jewish teens to explore their connection with Judaism and community. We provide opportunities for youth to take on leadership roles, engage in social action, and dive into deep learning with each other.
BJUSY programming runs throughout the school year beginning with our Senior Sponsored Barbeque in August and ending with our final banquet in June. We meet every Tuesday at 7pm in the Youth Lounge for our weekly lounge night – activities planned by our executive board. These can range anywhere from playing sardines to making tinfoil hats and movie nights.
Other fun BJUSY programs include: First Friday Kab Shab, Mystery Bus Ride, SA/TO Sleepover, Chapter Membership Training Retreat, and regional conventions! We also host congregation-wide events such as our annual Pancake Breakfast and Purim Carnival. Taking on leadership roles in the community is a pillar of the BJUSY chapter.
